Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Class 2 driver / Warehouse Operative to support the efficient movement of goods between our Manufacturing site and Distribution Centre. This is a hybrid role combining short-distance driving with warehouse duties, requiring a proactive and flexible approach.
The primary responsibility is operating a loop run between sites (approx 5 minutes each way), alongside supporting warehouse operations including loading, unloading and stock handling.
Responsibilities & Requirements
- Safely operate a Class 2 vehicle for site-to-site 'loop' deliveries between Manufacturing and Distribution.
- Ensure timely and accurate transportation of goods between locations.
- Load your own vehicle in line with safe loading practices and company procedures.
- Offload goods at the destination and accurately scan stock into designated warehouse locations.
- Support warehouse operations, including picking, packing and general stock handling.
- Assist with internal good movements (goods looping) and occasional small customer deliveries.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or issues promptly.
- Maintain vehicle records and keep up to date servicing schedules.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the Warehouse and vehicle.
- Work collaboratively with the Warehouse and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for the safe loading and unloading of the vehicle.
- Ensure all loads are secure and compliant with transport regulations.
- Adhere to all company Health & Safety procedures.
- Operate equipment and vehicles safely at all times.
- Report hazards, near misses, or incidents in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Valid Class 2 (category C) Driving License - Essential
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card - Essential
- Forklift licence - Desirable
- Previous experience in a driving and/or warehouse role preferred.
- Good understanding of warehouse processes and stock handling.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong attention to details and accuracy (especially with scanning and stock control).
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible approach to working hours.
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Have a hands-on attitude and willing to support across operations.
- Be safety concious with a responsible attitude.
- Have a positive and team-oriented mindset.
