Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, primarily utilising flatbed lorries for delivery purposes. Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 2 flatbed lorries in compliance with all relevant road safety and traffic regulations
- Load and secure goods onto the flatbed, ensuring safe transit during delivery
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery schedules and minimise delays
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues promptly
- Deliver goods to various locations, maintaining professional conduct with clients and customers
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols during loading, transit, and unloading processes
- Assist with the loading and unloading of goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling techniques are used
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, specifically with flatbed or similar vehicles
- 2 years delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of current road regulations and safety standards for commercial vehicles
- Familiarity with route planning software or GPS systems is advantageous
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and securing cargo efficiently
