Position: Festival Security Officer
Overview:
We're seeking a highly motivated and reliable Festival Security Officer to join our team, ensuring the safety and security of festival grounds, attendees, and staff. This dynamic role demands sharp surveillance skills, expertise in crowd management, and the ability to respond swiftly in diverse festival scenarios. Applicants must hold a valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) license.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular patrols throughout festival grounds to deter and identify signs of unauthorized access or disturbances
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to swiftly detect and respond to potential security threats
- Respond promptly to alarms and disturbances, effectively diffusing any situations that may arise
- Maintain detailed records of security-related incidents and promptly report any suspicious activities to festival authorities
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting festival-goers and staff with inquiries and concerns
- Enforce access control procedures at entry points and verify the identity of individuals in restricted areas
- Conduct thorough bag checks and inspections to ensure compliance with festival regulations
- Assist in implementing emergency response protocols and procedures, including coordinating with medical personnel and law enforcement when necessary
- Administer first aid or CPR in emergency situations until medical professionals arrive, ensuring the well-being of festival attendees
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Security Officer or in a similar role, preferably in a festival or large event setting
- Possession of a valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) license
- Strong knowledge of security operations and crowd management techniques
- Familiarity with surveillance equipment, including CCTV systems, and ability to use them effectively in a festival environment
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations, with a focus on ensuring the safety of festival attendees
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with a diverse range of individuals
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a festival security team
- High level of integrity and professionalism, reflecting positively on the festival's reputation
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, throughout the duration of the festival
Note: All positions at the festival, including security roles, are compensated.
