About the role
We are seeking a dedicated PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) Teacher to join our specialist team in Shepperton. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, person-centred education and therapeutic support to children and young people with complex needs, fostering independence, communication, and wellbeing in a supportive community setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement and evaluate tailored curriculum programmes aligned with individual health and care plans
- Deliver inclusive lessons using multi-sensory, assistive-technology and therapeutic approaches
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, families and external agencies to ensure holistic care
- Monitor progress, maintain accurate records and produce regular reports for stakeholders
- Contribute to team meetings, training sessions and continuous-improvement initiatives
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching or supporting learners with profound and multiple learning disabilities
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, behaviour management and safeguarding
- Excellent communication, empathy and teamwork skills
