We are looking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated individual to join the Council’s Development Management Service.
Ideally, we’re looking for a qualified, experienced Development Management Officer, however consideration will be given to applicants working within the built environment, with experience / qualifications in architecture, conservation or the built heritage.

We will expect you to be creative, innovative and able to find solutions.
On a day to day basis you will:
- Assist in the preparation and provision of a professional planning service, by sensitively managing land usage and development in the County.
- Process applications for planning permission.
- Undertake the efficient and effective investigation of breaches of planning control and legislation within the County and utilise appropriate enforcement interventions as necessary.
We are looking to recruit an individual:
- With a degree or equivalent in Town and Country Planning or related discipline.
- With a good understanding of permitted development rights and experience of dealing with a variety of planning applications and enforcement cases.
- With an ability to communicate impartially and effectively with a wide range of people at various levels.
- With an ability to work with limited supervision and to work to tight deadlines.
- With a strong commitment to providing a high quality service to the public and strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
The post requires a degree of fluency in the Welsh language. Please note that a successful applicant without the required Welsh language skill will be fully supported to reach the required standard within two years of appointment.
