Position: Nursery Cook (School Holidays Only)
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Nursery Cook to join our team on a school holidays-only working pattern. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing healthy, home-cooked meals for young children in a busy childcare environment.
Main Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals to a high standard
- Follow dietary requirements and portion control guidelines
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are met
- Work independently and manage time effectively
- Assist with stock rotation and basic ordering tasks
Requirements
- Previous relevant experience is essential (please do not apply without this)
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work within strict timeframes
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene, health, and safety
No formal qualifications are required; however, the successful candidate will be expected to obtain a Food Hygiene Certificate and complete Safer Food, Better Business (food safety management procedures for small businesses).
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 9:30am – 1:00pm
- School Holidays Only, including:
- 1 week in February
- 8 days at Easter
- 1 week in May
- 6 weeks during the Summer holidays
- 1 week in October
- 1 week in December
This equates to approximately 12 weeks of work per year.
