Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced General Warehouse Operative/Forklift Driver to join our busy warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts, managing materials handling, and supporting the efficient organisation of goods within the warehouse environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise warehouse experience in a dynamic setting, ensuring the smooth flow of shipping and receiving operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklift trucks to load, unload, and move goods within the warehouse.
- Assist with materials handling, including stacking, organising, and storing stock items.
- Support shipping and receiving processes by preparing goods for dispatch or receipt.
- Conduct maintenance checks on forklift truck.
- Ensure all goods are stored securely and in accordance with safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
- Assist with stocktaking and inventory control activities as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a warehouse environment, with knowledge of materials handling and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Valid forklift licence with demonstrated experience operating forklift trucks safely is essential.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic maths skills for inventory counts and measurements.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively in physically demanding conditions.
- Strong attention to safety protocols and procedures at all times.
- Previous experience in logistics or warehouse operations is desirable but not essential.
