Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chef Supervisor to oversee culinary operations supporting our Kitchen Manager within our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality and service. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, managing food production, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards. The Chef Supervisor will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of hospitality and operational efficiency, fostering a positive team environment, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily kitchen activities, ensuring smooth operation during service hours
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality standards and consistency
- Manage and train kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and other culinary personnel
- Develop menus in collaboration with management, incorporating innovative dishes while adhering to dietary requirements
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment
- Assist in serving customers when required, providing excellent hospitality experience
- Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service and fostering team morale
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy culinary or hospitality environment
- To deputise in absence of Kitchen Manger.
- Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and promote teamwork
- Excellent understanding of food safety standards and regulations a minimum of Level 2 but preferred Level 3 (Level 3 Food Safety can be provided)
- Experience in menu development and food presentation
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and management
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable; serving experience is advantageous but not essential.
Pay: £13.25-£14.00 per hour
