Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Book-keeper/Payroll Manager, to join our finance team. This multifaceted role is essential in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, efficient payroll processing, and timely wage management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities, supporting client accounting functions and ensuring compliance with HMRC, Companies House and relevant payroll legislation.
Duties
- Maintain complete and accurate accounting records for multiple client businesses.
- Record daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and supplier statements.
- Prepare monthly management reports for clients.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
- Process weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time.
- Resolve payroll queries from employees and clients.
- Ensure compliance with PAYE and National Insurance regulations.
- Prepare VAT records and assist with VAT return preparation
- Ensure accounting records comply with UK accounting standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookkeeping, payroll management, or wages administration within a professional setting
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero is essential
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and payroll procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and professionally
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and external vendors
