Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diamond Driller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating specialised drilling equipment to extract diamonds efficiently and safely. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, experience with commercial driving, and familiarity with excavator operation. The ideal applicant will be organised, safety-conscious, and capable of working in challenging environments to contribute to the success of our mining operations.
Duties
- Operate diamond drilling machinery with precision and adherence to safety protocols
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of drilling sites, including positioning excavators and other machinery
- Monitor drilling progress, adjusting techniques as necessary to meet project specifications
- Maintain detailed records of drilling activities, including depth, samples collected, and equipment used
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and safety standards are upheld
- Follow all health and safety regulations to minimise risks during operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in mechanical systems and equipment operation within a mining or construction environment
- Valid commercial driving licence with a clean driving record
- Experience operating excavators or similar heavy machinery is highly desirable
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and equipment maintenance
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in remote locations
- Good physical fitness, capable of handling physically demanding tasks
- Willingness to undergo training related to specialised drilling techniques and safety procedures
