Business Development Manager – Debt Advisory
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 basic + commission + annual bonus + benefits
The Opportunity
We are working with a well-established professional services business that is continuing to grow its Debt Advisory offering. As part of this growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join the team.
This is a relationship-led B2B business development role, ideally suited to an individual with a proven track record of developing new business within Financial Services, Commercial Finance, Banking or a related professional services environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing commercial opportunities, building relationships with key introducers and professional contacts, and contributing directly to the continued growth of the Debt Advisory division.
This is not a high-volume, transactional or telesales position. We are looking for someone who understands consultative B2B sales, is comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and has the commercial credibility to develop long-term relationships that generate opportunities.
The Role
As Business Development Manager, you will take an active role in developing the division's business development strategy and generating new revenue opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities across the UK business finance market.
- Building and maintaining a strong network of introducers, professional advisers, lenders and business owners.
- Developing long-term, commercially valuable relationships with key stakeholders.
- Identifying opportunities through existing networks, referrals, networking and targeted business development activity.
- Managing and progressing a pipeline of prospective clients and introducers from initial engagement through to opportunity.
- Developing relationships with accountants, corporate finance professionals, IFAs, lawyers, lenders and other professional introducers.
- Attending and representing the business at networking events, conferences, client meetings and industry events.
- Working closely with senior members of the Debt Advisory team to develop opportunities and convert introductions into fee-generating business.
- Identifying cross-referral opportunities across the wider professional services business.
- Developing sector and market knowledge to identify new commercial opportunities.
- Supporting targeted campaigns and initiatives designed to raise the profile of the Debt Advisory offering.
- Contributing to LinkedIn, thought leadership, events, webinars and other profile-raising activity.
- Supporting the preparation of client proposals, presentations and introductory materials.
- Maintaining an accurate and commercially focused CRM and pipeline.
- Tracking business development activity, referral sources and opportunities.
- Contributing directly to the growth of the division and generation of fee income.

- Experience working with senior stakeholders and professional introducers.
- Strong understanding of consultative B2B sales and relationship-led business development.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
