The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional, and reliable Dance Coach to join our growing coaching team.
You will deliver engaging, structured, and age-appropriate dance sessions for primary school children aged 5–13 years, helping them develop rhythm, coordination, creativity, confidence, musicality, and self-expression through movement.
We welcome coaches with experience in one or more of the following styles:
- Modern Jazz
- Contemporary Dance
- Breakdance (Breaking)
- Street Dance (desirable)

What You'll Deliver
Sessions may include:
- Warm-ups and mobility exercises
- Modern Jazz techniques
- Contemporary dance techniques
- Breakdance (Breaking) fundamentals
- Choreography and performance routines
- Rhythm, musicality and movement development
- Creative dance and improvisation activities
- Teamwork and confidence-building exercises
- Fun dance games suitable for primary-aged children
- End-of-term performances where appropriate
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, fun, structured and inclusive dance sessions.
- Teach age-appropriate dance techniques in a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Inspire creativity, confidence and self-expression through movement.
- Adapt activities to suit different ages, abilities and experience levels.
- Encourage participation, teamwork and positive behaviour.
- Maintain excellent behaviour management throughout sessions.
- Ensure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are always followed.
- Set up and pack away equipment before and after sessions.
- Maintain attendance registers where required.
- Communicate professionally with schools, parents and the Serge Betsen Sports team.
- Act as a positive role model for all participants.
- Report any safeguarding or welfare concerns in line with company procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Dance teaching qualification or recognised coaching/instructing experience.
- Experience teaching Modern Jazz, Contemporary Dance, Breakdance, or a combination of these styles.
- Experience coaching children aged 5–13 years.
- Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Valid Safeguarding Children Certificate.
- Valid Emergency First Aid Certificate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual and professional.
- Passionate about inspiring young people through dance.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- ISTD, IDTA, BTDA, Acrobatic Arts, or equivalent dance teaching qualification.
- Experience delivering after-school clubs.
- Experience working within primary schools.
- Experience choreographing performances for children.
- Experience delivering holiday camps or community arts programmes.
- Full UK Driving Licence (desirable but not essential).
