About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Driver to join our dedicated team, providing safe and comfortable transport for individuals with learning disabilities.
In this role, you will use our company minibus to collect individuals from their homes each morning and bring them to our Community Hub, where they take part in daily activities, social groups, and learning opportunities. In the afternoon, you will transport them home, accompanied by one of our support staff.
You’ll play a vital part in helping people access their community, develop independence, and maintain important social connections. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting people, driving responsibly, and making a real difference every day.
Hours:
Monday: 8:45am–10:30am / 4:00pm–6:00pm
Tuesday – Friday: 8:15am–10:30am / 4:00pm–6:00pm
Saturday (alternate): 8:30am–10:00am / 4:00pm–6:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive our company minibus to pick up and drop off individuals with learning disabilities.
- Maintain a kind, respectful, and patient approach at all times.
- Ensure passengers feel comfortable, supported, and secure throughout their journey.
- Carry out basic vehicle checks (fuel, oil, tyres, cleanliness) and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Work closely with support staff to ensure smooth communication and safe transitions for all passengers.
- Support individuals with getting on and off the bus when needed, ensuring wheelchairs and mobility aids are safely secured.
- Follow all company, safeguarding, and health & safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
✅ Full, clean UK driving licence
✅ Over 25 years old (for insurance purposes)
✅ Licence held for at least 12 months
✅ Reliable, patient, and caring attitude
✅ Good communication and interpersonal skills
✅ Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities (preferred but not essential – training provided)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £13.00 per hour
