Shift Manager – ID Logistics - Inditex
Location: Grange Park, Northampton, Operations
Hours: 37.5 (Monday-Sunday) – Hours to be agreed
Reports to: Operations Manager
Role Summary
The Shift Manager oversees end‑to‑end warehouse operations during their assigned shift within a 3PL retail fashion environment, ensuring efficient pick, pack, dispatch, and returns processing. They lead teams to meet strict SLAs, maintain high standards of accuracy and presentation expected in fashion logistics, and uphold safety, quality, and customer service standards.
This role requires strong people leadership, operational planning, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, seasonal, and volume‑variable environment. Safely deliver service within budget whilst driving engagement and managing individual colleague performance
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Compliance

Take full responsibility for Health & Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) during the shift.

Ensure compliance with warehouse SOPs, safe systems of work, and regulatory guidelines.
Operational Leadership

Manage all warehouse activities across the shift, including picking, packing, dispatch, replenishment, and returns.

Accountable for workforce and equipment planning using volume forecasts to prepare agreed capacities to deliver SLA within budget for non-peak and peak seasons.

Oversee receipt and checking of deliveries and ensure accurate stock handling.

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.

Utilise CID, SIM and iDeliver training to drive site improvement plans ensuring KPI’s are met/exceeded ie CAPA, 5S, Gemba
People Management

Lead, motivate, and develop warehouse operatives and team leaders to achieve shift KPIs via periodic performance 1:1s and the annual colleague review and objective setting window.

Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching and feedback.

Manage attendance, including acting as first point of contact for sickness and leave requests.

Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of new team members.
Performance, Quality & SLA Management

Ensure all fashion orders meet accuracy, presentation, despatch and carrier sortation expectation set out by retail clients.

Monitor shift KPIs (pick rate, order accuracy, dispatch times) and implement improvements.

Conduct quality checks on orders, goods, and equipment.
Reporting & Administration

Prepare and submit shift reports, operational data, and KPI summaries.

Manage timesheets, payroll‑related admin, and shift scheduling.

Handle customer or client escalations professionally and promptly.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
-
Proven experience as a Shift Manager or Shift Leader in a 3PL, warehouse, FMCG, e‑commerce, or retail fashion logistics environment.

Strong leadership and team‑management skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams.

Knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse software.

Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume, and physically demanding environment.
