Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join our organisation. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting and maintaining a safe working environment across all departments. Duties
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Develop, implement, and review health and safety policies and procedures tailored to organisational needs.
- Provide expert advice on risk management strategies and best practices to minimise workplace incidents.
- Lead investigations into accidents or near-misses, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare detailed report writing on safety performance, incidents, and improvement initiatives for senior management.
- Facilitate training sessions on health and safety topics, including first aid procedures, emergency response, and safe working practices.
- Collaborate with departmental managers to ensure safety measures are integrated into daily operations.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, training activities, and compliance documentation.
- Promote a positive safety culture through ongoing communication, engagement activities, and behavioural safety programmes.
Experience
- Proven experience in a health & safety advisory role within an industrial or organisational setting.
- First aid certification is desirable; additional qualifications in occupational health or environmental management are advantageous.
- Strong report writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrable expertise in root cause analysis techniques to effectively investigate incidents and identify underlying issues.
- Knowledge of relevant health & safety legislation and standards applicable within the United Kingdom.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively whilst managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate complex safety information clearly and persuasively across all levels of the organisation.
