We are looking for a experienced Developer to join our growing IT Team and support some exciting projects. This is a 6 month fixed term contract with potential to become permanent.
You will have extensive experience of working with Java and SQL databases and familiarity with Spring Boot framework and PostgreSQL. Experience with React (v16.8+) is desirable but not essential.
You will:
- Take responsibility for development of new features and continuous improvement of Aston Barclay’s applications - work collaboratively with other Developers, BAs, QAs, business stakeholders and other colleagues to ensure a shared understanding of desired business outcomes, and delivery of functional, performance and other non-functional requirements, assuring the provision of a coherent and reliable system which meets the needs of our customers and staff.
- Champion continuous improvement and a culture of high quality throughout the function – promote and embed quality techniques which help deliver ‘right-first-time’, ‘speed-to-value’ and total team productivity.
- Support the timely, high-quality delivery of change projects.
Skills/Experience:
- Extensive experience of working with Java and SQL databases.
- Familiarity with Spring Boot framework and PostgreSQL.
- Not essential but experience with React (v16.8+) is desirable
- Experience of AWS cloud features and APIs.
- Familiar with Git version control, continuous integration, and unit testing.
- Understanding of the software development process – including Agile.
- Experience of data management.
- Good stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude.
- Strong organisatonal skills.
The role is home based, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. There may be adhoc requirements to travel to any of our 6 sites so candidates must be able and willing to travel is required.
