Contract: Bank to cover our 3 complex nursing homes - Royal Park (WV2 2BL), Jubilee Court (WV14 9EJ) and Elizabeth Court (DY4 7PS)
Salary: £30 per hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist to join our team on a bank basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of speech therapy techniques and be committed to helping individuals improve their communication skills. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages. The Speech Therapist will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop tailored treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessment results.
- Provide therapy sessions to patients, utilising evidence-based techniques and interventions.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care and rehabilitation goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
Skills/Qualifications:
- HCPC registration
- Proficient in speech therapy practices and techniques.
- Strong knowledge of physiology related to speech production and communication processes.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology.
- Understanding of anatomy as it pertains to the respiratory system, vocal cords, and oral structures involved in communication.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families.
- Strong organisational skills for managing caseloads effectively while ensuring quality care delivery.
Pay: £30.00 per hour
