Cook – Residential Care Home
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and caring Cook to join our residential care home team. You will be responsible for preparing fresh, nutritious meals that meet the individual dietary needs and preferences of our residents, supporting dignity, choice, and enjoyment at mealtimes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook balanced meals for residents
- Meet special dietary needs (e.g. diabetic, soft/puréed, allergies)
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Support menu planning and resident choice
- Manage food stock and minimise waste
- Work closely with care staff to support residents at mealtimes
About You
- Experience cooking in a care, catering, or similar environment
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safety
- Knowledge of special diets is essential
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
- A caring and respectful approach
