The Role
A5 Recruitment is working with a busy engineering workshop in Chadderton to recruit an experienced Manual Turner for permanent, hands-on repair and breakdown work.
This is a jobbing shop environment with varied, one-off work — ideal for someone who enjoys problem solving and repairing components rather than high-volume production. You'll be trusted to take a worn or damaged part from drawing, sample or the part itself and turn it around quickly.
Duties
- Operating manual lathes to a high standard
- Repairing and refurbishing worn or damaged components
- Working from engineering drawings, samples or worn parts
- Supporting breakdown work with quick turnaround
- Producing one-off and small-batch parts
What You'll Need
To be considered for this role and the advertised rate of pay, you should have:
- Strong, demonstrable experience as a Manual Turner / Lathe Machinist
- A background in repair, breakdown or jobbing-shop work
- The ability to work confidently from samples or worn components
- Confidence reading engineering drawings
