About the Role
We are looking for an organised and proactive Housing Support Administrator to join our Quality Assurance Team.
This role focuses on managing shared inboxes, responding to partner enquiries, and progressing a range of housing-related administrative cases, including suspended housing benefit claims. You will investigate issues, coordinate with local authorities, housing providers, and internal colleagues and ensure cases are progressed efficiently through to resolution.
A key part of the role involves maintaining accurate and detailed records on internal systems. You will record actions taken, monitor the progress of outstanding cases, follow up with relevant stakeholders via email and phone where required and ensure all information is kept up to date to support effective case management and service delivery.
This position would suit someone who is highly organised, enjoys problem solving and is able to manage a varied workload while maintaining accurate records and ensuring cases are resolved effectively.
Role Details
- Location: Office-based, Birmingham City Centre
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Manage shared inboxes and respond to enquiries professionally and efficiently
- Investigate and resolve housing-related administrative issues
- Liaise with Benefits Officers regarding suspended housing benefit claims via email and phone
- Communicate with housing providers, managing agents, and internal teams
- Coordinate actions to ensure queries are resolved promptly
- Maintain accurate records and update internal systems
- Prioritise workload and monitor outstanding cases
Main Duties
- Process and respond to incoming emails and enquiries
- Investigate housing benefit and tenancy-related issues
- Escalate complex cases where appropriate
- Follow up with stakeholders to obtain required information
- Keep clear records of correspondence and case progress
- Ensure service standards and response times are maintained
About You
- Excellent organisational skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a busy office environment
- Confident communicating with a range of stakeholders
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving
- Good IT skills and attention to detail
No previous housing administration experience is required. We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills gained through work, education, or other experience. Experience in administration, customer service, benefits, or case management would be advantageous but is not essential.
