We have a new opportunity for a Sprayer to join our busy in-house Spray shop here in Basildon, Essex.
Job purpose
- To prepare, spray, and finish bespoke joinery products to a high-quality standard, ensuring all items are completed in accordance with company specifications, customer requirements, and health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare timber, MDF, veneers, and other joinery products for finishing.
- Sand, fill, and prime surfaces to the required standard.
- Mix paints, lacquers, stains, and other finishing materials accurately.
- Apply finishes using spray equipment, including primers, topcoats, lacquers, and specialist coatings.
- Ensure colour matching and finish quality meet customer specifications.
- Inspect completed work for defects and carry out remedial work where necessary.
- Maintain spray booths, extraction systems, spray guns, and related equipment.
- Monitor stock levels of paints, coatings, and consumables, reporting shortages as required.
- Work closely with the workshop team to ensure production schedules are met.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
- Adhere to all company health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the finishing department.
The successful candidate must have the following skills and qualifications:
Essential
- Previous experience working as a sprayer within a joinery, furniture, cabinetry, or woodworking environment.
- Experience using spray equipment and finishing systems.
- Understanding of wood finishes, paints, lacquers, stains, and coatings.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a workshop environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience with bespoke or high-end joinery products.
