Scutt’s Potatoes are looking for a part-time sales and logistics person to join our wholesaling enterprise at Eastrington.
We are farmers and potato growers and we also wholesale and deliver potatoes direct to Fish and Chip Shops throughout Yorkshire.
Our newly built office is located at Owsthorpe Farm just outside Eastrington village overlooking fields next to the farmstead. The successful applicant will be working alongside a small friendly team that only a family farming business can give.
The Role Involves:
- Contacting and taking orders from customers via text, WhatApp, phone or email.
- Creating the delivery runs for the drivers.
- Resolving any customer issues.
- Managing the drivers and ensuring deliveries are made each day.
- Liaising with the garage and managing van maintenance.
- 2 days a week to fit in with other commitments. Working 5.5 to 6 hours per day between the hours of 9am and 3.30pm
The position is a part-time job share, approximately 12 hours per week. There is flexibility when to work within the working week and to work from home. You will also be required to cover holidays for your job share partner.
The applicant must:
- Be organised and able to communicate well with customers.
- Be an engaging conversationalist.
- Not be afraid to negotiate with customers.
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Have a can do attitude and the ability to get things done.
- Have computing skills with a knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Email, text and WhatsApp.
- Be motivated, enthusiastic and willing to learn.
- Live within 15 miles radius of the office.
