Key Responsibilities:
Corporate
- To maintain and demonstrate a commitment to the Organisation’s vision and values and strategic aims and objectives.
- To maintain high standards of professionalism and keep abreast of current legislation, standards, best practice and maintain a focus of continuous improvement.
- To maintain knowledge of the Organisation’s operating environment.
Main Tasks:
- Provide one-to-one support to those at risk of offending or involved in the criminal justice system.
- Advocate on behalf of clients with police, probation, courts, housing, and other agencies.
- Identify and address factors contributing to criminalisation, such as coercion, survival behaviours, substance use, or unmet mental health needs.
- Deliver support that is culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based.
- Maintain accurate, confidential case records in line with GDPR and organisational policies.
- Build strong partnerships with statutory and voluntary sector organisations.
General
- The role holder will be expected to perform any other duties that may reasonably be asked of them.
- The role holder will be able to work within the Safeguarding arena following organisation policies and procedures, be able to Recognise; Respond to; Report and Record Safeguarding issues and understand and make quality Safeguarding Referrals.
- Comply with data protection legislation, information sharing policy and procedures and all legislation connected to your work. Act in a manner which preserves the confidentiality of all stakeholders. Respect and value the diversity of the community in which the services works in, and recognise the needs and concerns of a diverse range of survivors ensuring the service is accessible to all.
Essential Experience:
- Experience of managing a complex or high-risk caseload, ensuring effective prioritisation and case management.
- Experience working in a women’s centre or community-based setting.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of the links between domestic abuse, trauma, and women’s involvement in the criminal justice system.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures, risk assessment tools, and multi-agency working.
- Excellent communication, advocacy and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and ability to apply these principles in day-to-day practice with clients and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- IDVA, ISAC or relevant qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience and the ability and commitment to achieve qualification within 6 months of appointment

- We are legally bound to check the eligibility of all candidates to work in the U.K. We therefore must have proof of your NI number (either the NI card or a recent wage slip).
- As you will be driving in the course of your duties we are also bound by law to make sure your vehicle is safe and road worthy. We must see your driving licence, Insurance and MOT before you start work. Also needs to be insured for Business use.
- We will require two satisfactory references, one of which should be from your most recent/current employer.
