Saws Operative
Hours: 15.30 to 00.00 Monday to Thursday 12 to 18.00 Friday
Pay: £12.71 per hour 39 hours + 13.25 hours shift premium plus Bonus
Training on days (06:00-1400 Monday-Thursday 06:00-13:00 Friday) for 1 month prior to going on afternoon. Subject to level of progress.
As Saws Operator your will be responsible to ensure quality engineering of components using relevant procedures and methods. Ensure health and safety in the workplace. To provide training where necessary.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To operate band saws for the purpose of sawing steel to works instruction
- Stock management
- Report to Die Plant team leader and Die Plant Manager
- Adhere to and encourage health and safety methods and procedures
- Inspection for all components throughout the process
- Support Die Plant Manager in continuous improvement
- Make sure all saw areas are tidy and organised
- To work as efficiently as possible
- Forklift truck driving (if licensed)
- Crane driving
- Cleaning, tidying and improving the state of the department
- Overtime
- Lorry loading / unloading
- Operate machinery in the saws area
- Work in conjunction with other saws operatives to maximise productivity
- Help plan sawing priorities
- Collect work from forging areas and heat treatment
- Work as a team with heat treatment operators
- Regularly check and inspect saws
- Make sure all work in progress and stock are identified
Pay: £12.71 per hour
