Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Welding Inspector to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety in welding processes across our projects. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will oversee welding activities, verify compliance with technical specifications, and uphold safety protocols. Your expertise will help us deliver durable, reliable structures while maintaining strict adherence to industry standards and regulations. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of welds during various stages of fabrication and construction, ensuring adherence to project specifications and codes.
- Utilize non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic, radiographic, or magnetic particle testing to evaluate weld integrity.
- Review welding procedures, certifications, and documentation to confirm compliance with industry standards like AWS (American Welding Society) or ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers).
- Identify and document any welding defects or deviations from quality standards, recommending corrective actions promptly.
- Collaborate closely with welders, engineers, and project managers to resolve quality issues efficiently.
- Maintain detailed inspection reports, records, and certifications for traceability and audit purposes.
- Ensure all welding activities comply with safety protocols including HACCP principles where applicable in food or pharmaceutical-related projects.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Welding Inspector or similar role within construction, manufacturing, or fabrication industries.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and industry standards such as AWS D1.1 or ASME codes.
- Demonstrated analysis skills to assess weld quality and identify potential issues early.
- Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and equipment is highly desirable.
- Experience in implementing quality assurance processes and conducting inspections in high-stakes environments.
- Certification as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level candidates willing to pursue certification.
