Café Cook / Kitchen Assistant – Lew’s Coffee Shop
Main location: Llanedeyrn Hub (but will be required at our Llandaff North & Ely site occasionally)
We’re looking for a strong kitchen team member to join Lew’s Coffee Shop.
This role suits someone who is confident working independently, can handle a busy service, and takes pride in keeping a clean, organised kitchen.
About the role:
You’ll be preparing simple, fresh food in a busy, community-focused café, including:
- Sandwiches, baguettes, toasties & paninis
- Breakfast service on weekends
- Homemade soups and daily specials
The menu is straightforward, but we’re keen to build on our specials - so if you enjoy cooking and bringing ideas, we’d love that.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparing and cooking food during service
- Running the kitchen during quieter shifts independently
- Supporting busy service periods
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and efficient
- Managing prep and stock during your shift
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in a café or kitchen is preferred
- Confident working independently, or willing to learn quickly
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Organised, clean, and reliable
- Able to keep things running smoothly during busy periods
We’re open to someone with less experience if you have the right attitude, take pride in your work, and are keen to learn.
Pay & details:
- £12.80–£13.75 per hour (depending on experience)
- Saturdays are shared across the team on a rota (not every weekend), with no Sunday work and regular weekends off.
