Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organisational skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. This role involves supporting lawyers in various legal tasks, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and well-organised, and assisting in the preparation of cases.
Duties
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support case preparation
- Draft legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, and pleadings using Microsoft Word
- Organise and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are filed correctly and efficiently
- Assist in the preparation for trials, hearings, and meetings by compiling necessary materials
- Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal matters
- Manage schedules and deadlines using Microsoft Outlook to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Utilise Microsoft Excel for tracking case progress and managing data related to cases
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow within the office
Requirements
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Effective time management skills to meet deadlines under pressure
- Basic IT skills to navigate legal software and databases effectively
- Previous experience as a paralegal or in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory
