As our Alternative Provision continues to grow, we're looking for a Programme Coordinator (Attendance & Curriculum) to play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of our Alternative Provision programmes.
This is a varied and rewarding role that combines attendance monitoring, learner welfare, curriculum coordination and programme administration. You'll be the central point of contact for monitoring attendance, ensuring our learners remain engaged, our tutors are well supported and our programmes run efficiently.
About the Role
You'll monitor attendance across our Alternative Provision programmes, liaise with schools, parents and carers regarding learner engagement, support tutors with curriculum administration and ensure programme operations run smoothly behind the scenes.
Working closely with the AP Leads and the wider delivery team, you'll help create an organised, supportive and responsive learning environment for young people who need it most.
Key ResponsibilitiesAttendance & Learner Engagement
- Monitor daily attendance and complete learner registers.
- Contact parents, carers and schools regarding learner absence and welfare.
- Identify attendance trends and patterns, escalating concerns where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and reporting.
- Support learner engagement and encourage positive participation.
- Work within Learning Hive's safeguarding and welfare procedures.
Curriculum Coordination
- Source assessment materials and learning resources.
- Support tutors with curriculum queries and administrative requests.
- Assist with the creation, maintenance and review of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
- Ensure learner records and curriculum documentation are accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate assessment paperwork and programme documentation.
Programme Coordination
- Prepare learner timetables and monthly programme schedules.
- Maintain programme spreadsheets, trackers and operational records.
- Manage online learning platforms and administrative systems.
- Support reporting for schools, local authorities and internal quality assurance.
- Carry out general programme administration to ensure the smooth running of Alternative Provision.
- Contribute ideas to improve processes and systems across the programme.
About You
You'll have:
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other online platforms
- The ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- A calm, professional and compassionate approach when dealing with young people and families.
- A commitment to safeguarding and supporting positive learner outcomes.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within education, Alternative Provision, school or similar environment.
- Knowledge of attendance monitoring processes.
- Experience supporting curriculum delivery or learner administration.
- Familiarity with Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
