This role is to fill a vacancy due to departure of a consultant radiologist. We are looking to maintain our team of consultant radiologist by appointing new proactive, compassionate and committed colleagues to share in the challenge of providing patient centred specialist care. This role is to provide consultant services to maintain the capacity of the department and candidates should have an interest in General radiology and Head and Neck preferable. The post holder will be expected to be part of the regional MDT Teams. They will also be expected to provide training and supervision for Specialist Registrars and Allied Health professionals. There will also be an expectation to partake in general cross-sectional and plain film reporting to maintain the high levels of service provided by the radiology department at QVH including GP direct access imaging pathways.
The post holder will:
- Provide a high-quality, consultant-led diagnostic imaging service , with a primary focus on Head & Neck imaging
- Contribute to regional MDTs , playing a central role in patient diagnosis, staging, and treatment planning
- Deliver cross-sectional reporting (CT/MRI) , ultrasound (including FNA and core biopsy ) and general radiology services.
- Support QVH’s strategic role as a centre of excellence in reconstructive and cancer care , with strong emphasis on innovation, research, and service development whilst serving the local population including GP direct access imaging as part of QVH Radiology service.

Ø To report a wide range of cross-sectional scans for general CT/ MRI and plain film as required to RCR standard.
Ø Perform US procedures of the head and neck region including FNA/ Core Biopsy
Ø Participation in various regional MDTs.
Ø Maintain a high standard of clinical expertise and care for the patient
Ø Perform ultrasound scans and independently report own workload of patients, providing written reports to the referring clinician to RCR standard
Ø Have an interest / training in a sub-specialty; ideally Head and Neck
Ø There is no on-call commitment
Ø Support registrars, sonographers and reporting radiographers with mentorship and training.
