What You Will Be Doing
Reporting to the Sous Chef, you will work closely with the operations team to fulfill orders promptly and maintain high quality:
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes in accordance with standard recipes and specifications.
- Oversee a specific section of the kitchen, managing and training junior staff as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control to ensure ingredient freshness.
- Adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Assist in implementing cost control measures to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
- Maintain essential knife skills and demonstrate a sound knowledge of diverse cooking techniques.
- Collaborate with the team to contribute ideas for improving kitchen processes and food quality.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of professional kitchen experience, ideally within airline catering or large-scale food production.
- Education: Culinary diploma or equivalent qualification from a recognized culinary school.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations; excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Competencies: Ability to work safely, efficiently, and neatly under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
