About the Role
Thermal Care Scotland is looking for a motivated Electrical Trainee Engineer to join our growing team specialising in HVAC, renewable energy and electrical installations.
This role is ideal for someone who has started their electrical training, is currently completing an electrical qualification, or has recently qualified and is looking to gain real industry experience.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll receive hands-on training across domestic and commercial projects involving air conditioning, solar PV, battery storage, heat pumps, EV charging and commercial electrical installations.
This is a long-term opportunity with genuine career progression into a fully qualified Electrical, HVAC or Renewables Engineer.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assisting experienced engineers with electrical installations across domestic and commercial sites.
- Installing containment, wiring, controls, isolators and electrical accessories.
- Supporting the installation and commissioning of HVAC and renewable energy systems.
- Learning fault-finding, testing and commissioning techniques.
- Working safely and following all company health and safety procedures.
- Maintaining tools, equipment and company vehicles to a high standard.
- Building your technical knowledge through practical on-site experience and ongoing training.
Who We're Looking For
We would like to hear from applicants who:
- Have started an electrical apprenticeship or electrical college course; or
- Have recently completed an electrical qualification and are looking to begin their career.
- Have a genuine interest in electrical engineering, HVAC and renewable technologies.
- Have a positive attitude and are keen to learn.
- Can work well as part of a team.
- Have good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
- Hold a full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential for exceptional candidates).
Preferred Qualifications
- SVQ, NC, HNC or equivalent Electrical qualification (completed or in progress).
- ECS/CSCS Card (preferred but can be provided).
- IPAF qualification (preferred but training can be provided).
