We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented CAD Engineer to join our innovative engineering team in this temporary, part time role. You will be responsible for creating, modifying, and managing detailed technical drawings and 3D models that support our manufacturing and design projects involving heritage copper lanterns, gas flambeaux and associated products.
Job Summary
The CAD engineer is responsible for creating, modifying and optimizing technical drawings and 3D models using CAD software such as Inventor.
The role supports engineering and manufacturing to translate design concepts into accurate, production-ready documents. You will primarily be working on our core product range to bring our technical drawings and documentation files up to date.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate and comprehensive 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software such as AutoCAD Inventor.
- Collaborate closely with our Senior Design Engineer on project requirements and translate them into detailed schematics and technical documentation.
- Prepare technical drawings, schematic diagrams, and assemblies that adhere to industry standards, regulations and project specifications.
- Review and revise CAD models based on feedback, ensuring all designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Assist in coordinating design integration across various disciplines by managing model coordination.
- Support site teams by providing clear technical drawings that facilitate efficient manufacturing workflows.
- Maintain organized CAD files and project documentation for easy access and version control.
- Creation of BOMs in Odoo, our CRM and MRP system.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience with CAD software including AutoCAD, Inventor.
- Strong understanding of schematics design, technical drafting standards, and manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated ability to produce detailed manufacturing drawings and models for lighting projects ideally.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to interpret engineering sketches, technical specifications, and project plans accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail with good communication and teamwork skills.
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or a related field is desirable but not mandatory if complemented by relevant experience.
Work Environment
- Office based with occasional site visits.
- May involve tight deadlines and multiple concurrent projects.
