Hair By Marta is a colour specialist salon in Market Drayton, Shropshire, built over thirteen years on one idea, that colour done by someone who genuinely knows what they are doing is worth travelling for. We are not a high street salon trying to be everything to everyone, we are women’s colour and cutting only, and the clients who come to us have usually been let down by colour somewhere else and are looking for someone they can finally trust with it.
The role
I am looking for one outstanding stylist to join us and I am going to be honest about what that means before you read any further, because this is a salon with a standard that does not move. If you want to coast through your column and clock off then we will both work that out very quickly and it will not be a happy fit, but if you take real pride in your work, if you finish a head of colour and actually want to stand back and look at it, and if you rebook clients because you care whether they come back rather than because somebody is nagging you to, then this is the chair for you.
What the salon is and is not
We are women’s colour and cutting only. We do not take men, we do not take children under twelve and we do not do occasion hair or hair ups. Our clients are not chasing the cheapest price, which means the technical bar is high and the consultation matters every bit as much as the finished result.
What I am looking for
A superstar, and I am using that word on purpose, because I am not settling for the next person who happens to fill in an application. That might be a colourist who lives for blonding, balayage, colour corrections or grey blending, or it might be a cutting specialist whose finishes speak for themselves, or ideally someone who is strong across both.
Hours and pay
The hours are flexible and I would far rather build full time or part time around the right person than force the right person around a rota. You earn a competitive hourly base plus a weekly performance bonus once your column is flying, so the harder you fill, the more you take home.
