Well Good Bread is an independent focacceria based in Lancaster, up until now we have been operating as a wholesale operation but we're now opening our very own bread shop. The shop will sell our bread, organic fruit and veg, and a selection of our favourite independent store cupboard brands.
Located at Lancaster Castle, this will be a small shop with lots of heart, and we're looking for someone to run it like it's their own- a chatterbox who can pull in regulars that will come back week after week, creating a real community hub.
Job role:
- Manage our new Bread Shop - a pop-up store running October to December, with scope to make this a permanent site
- Take ownership of the store and how the stock is presented, scope to influence items stocked
- Daily set-up of the store before opening, including managing the till float
- Handling of food and serving the great people of Lancaster- bread stored in trays and sliced to order
- Daily closing down of the store
- Support with moving stock
Person specification:
- Loves a chat
- Able to work weekends: Saturday & Sunday
- Reliable, friendly, and comfortable running a shop solo
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene procedures and food safety management systems (training also provided)
- Driving preferred, to help support with moving stock
Hours:
Saturday & Sunday, roughly 8:30am-5:00pm
The arrangement:
We're initially renting the shop on a pop-up basis until the end of the year, with the aim of extending the lease if it's successful.
Pay:
Real Living Wage
Pay: From £13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 18.0 per week
