Your role is essential in ensuring residents feel safe, supported, and comfortable throughout the night. You will work closely with other care staff to deliver high-quality support, maintain safety protocols, and respond promptly to residents' needs.
Responsibilities
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing throughout the night, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Respond swiftly and effectively to any emergencies or urgent needs, including medical issues or safety concerns
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as toileting, repositioning, or medication reminders as required
- Conduct regular checks on the environment to ensure safety standards are maintained and report any hazards or issues
- Maintain accurate records of residents’ conditions, incidents, and care provided during your shift
- Support the implementation of individual care plans by following prescribed routines and procedures
- Communicate clearly with team members about residents’ statuses and any concerns that arise during the night
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a care home or home care environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with residents and team members
- Basic IT skills for recording observations and updating care records electronically
- Valid driving license is advantageous for supporting transportation needs if required
- Ability to remain calm, attentive, and proactive during overnight shifts
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures related to adult social care is beneficial but not mandatory
- A caring attitude with excellent interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with residents
