Public & Green Space Operator
Location: Exeter, Devon
Pay: From £13.45 per hour
Type: Full-time, Temporary – Ongoing
We’re looking for a dedicated Public & Green Space Operator to join our client’s team, helping to deliver high-quality cleansing services across Exeter. If you take pride in keeping public spaces clean, safe, and welcoming, this could be the role for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remove litter and empty public litter bins
- Clean public toilets and car parks as needed
- Remove small graffiti, fly posters, weeds, and overgrowth
- Conduct facility inspections and report any maintenance issues
- Identify and report larger reactive work (e.g., grass or hedge cutting, sweeping, tree work, large-scale graffiti removal, hot washing)
- Report issues like fly-tipping, damaged public furniture/signs, abandoned vehicles, stray dogs, or illegal land use
- Follow safe working practices and client procedures at all times
- Be flexible to cover shifts as required to support service needs
Skills & Requirements:
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transport to and from job locations
- Full, clean manual UK driving licence – essential
- Willingness to learn safe equipment use and health & safety best practices
Shift Information:
- Start Times: Between 05:00 and 07:00
- End Times: Between 13:00 and 18:00
Shift Patterns:
- Sunday to Thursday
- Tuesday to Saturday
- 5 out of 7 days (rotational, depending on cover needs)
