About Bilston Swimming Club
Bilston Swimming Club is a well-established competitive swimming club serving Bilston, Darlaston and Wednesbury. We are passionate about helping swimmers of all ages and abilities develop confidence, improve performance, and achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.
As our programme continues to grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Swim England Level 2 Teacher or Swim England Level 2 Coach to join our coaching team on a self-employed basis.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced swimming teacher or coach to work with a respected community club and make a real difference to swimmers' development.
We are particularly seeking someone who is available to deliver sessions on:
- Sunday afternoons
- Monday evenings
Additional teaching and coaching opportunities may be available for the right candidate.
What You'll Be Doing
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging swimming lessons and coaching sessions, supporting swimmers at various stages of their development, from learn-to-swim through to competitive level.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality swimming lessons and coaching sessions in line with Swim England standards.
- Creating a positive, safe and motivating learning environment.
- Encouraging, challenging and supporting swimmers to reach their potential.
- Monitoring progress and providing constructive feedback to swimmers and parents where appropriate.
- Working collaboratively with fellow coaches, teachers and club volunteers.
- Promoting good attendance, discipline and the values of Bilston Swimming Club.
- Ensuring all sessions are delivered safely and professionally.
About You

- Comfortable working independently while contributing to a wider coaching team.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Swim England (ASA) Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification and/or Swim England Level 2 Coach qualification.
- Experience delivering swimming lessons or coaching sessions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all swimmers.
Desirable
- Experience within a competitive swimming club environment.
- Current safeguarding training.
- Current first aid qualification.
- Experience working with competitive swimmers.
- Additional aquatic or coaching qualifications.
