Ray studios is currently the largest premium laser tattoo removal brand in France, Spain and Belgium, operating 20 across these markets.
We exclusively provide laser tattoo removal services, combining industry-leading laser technology with highly trained practitioners to deliver the safest and most effective experience for our customers.
As part of our continued international expansion, we are opening four new studios in the UK and Ireland this year, with launches scheduled in Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast. These will be our first locations in the UK and Ireland, with a clear ambition to scale further once the initial studios are successfully established.
Our mission is to redefine the tattoo removal experience, moving away from traditional clinical environments and creating warm, modern and welcoming studios that deliver outstanding results and exceptional customer service.
The Role
This is a rare opportunity for an entrepreneurial Laser Therapist to run a studio as if it were their own. Our Edinburgh studio is a compact single treatment room space and you will be the sole person on-site.
You’ll have full ownership of the customer journey from first booking to final treatment, with the autonomy, trust and accountability that comes with building something from day one. You will work closely with ray studios' central support teams, who will support you with the day-to-day running of the studio.
Studio Management & Customer Experience
- Welcome customers and manage the studio diary, bookings and enquiries (phone and email)
- Take payments and manage daily cash/card reconciliation and banking
- Maintain studio cleanliness, presentation and consumable/supply ordering
- Build customer relationships that support trust, retention and satisfaction
- Apply Ray studios' operational standards and KPIs consistently, and support continuous improvement
Laser Treatment Delivery
- Perform laser tattoo removal treatments using the Candela PicoWay system in line with RsAP protocols and safety standards
- Carry out pre-treatment consultations: explain the process and expected outcomes, answer questions, and secure informed consent
- Monitor skin response and adjust treatment parameters within company protocols
- Provide clear aftercare guidance and support re-bookings
Compliance, Regulation & Health & Safety
- Implement company operational, compliance and health & safety procedures on-site
- Ensure laser equipment is used strictly per company protocol and manufacturer guidelines
- Maintain required operational, treatment and incident records
- Handle customer data in line with GDPR and company policy
- Support central teams during audits, inspections or regulatory enquiries
Training, Certification & Regulation
No medical qualification is required for this role.
However, candidates with qualifications or experience in aesthetic treatments, laser therapy, beauty therapy, dermatology assistance, nursing or similar customer-facing treatment roles may have an advantage.
The VTCT (iTEC) Level 5 Certificate in Laser Tattoo Removal or an equivalent qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
Candidates may also be considered if they hold:
- VTCT (iTEC) Level 3 or 4 qualifications or equivalent, or
- no formal laser qualifications, provided they are willing to undertake training.
Ray studios provides comprehensive internal training, including:
- Laser safety and treatment delivery
- Candela PicoWay technology
- Ray studios’ proprietary RsAP treatment protocols
Where required, Ray studios will support Therapists in obtaining relevant certification.
Therapists must also be willing to:
- Follow defined treatment protocols
- Complete refresher training as required
- Work strictly within the scope of their training and certification
About You
You are calm, professional and customer-focused, with a genuine interest in aesthetics, technology and delivering great service.
You will ideally bring:
- Experience in a customer-facing environment (aesthetics, beauty, wellness, healthcare support, hospitality or similar)
- Comfortable working independently and owning the full studio operation
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a commercial, KPI-driven mindset
- Confident, reassuring communication style and a genuine commitment to customer safety and service excellence
- A commercial and results-driven mindset, comfortable working with performance indicators and customer outcomes
- Comfortable using digital tools, booking systems and structured treatment protocols
- Curious and willing to develop deep expertise in laser tattoo removal
