Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our transport team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts to handle materials, assist with loading and receiving goods from trailers. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where safety, efficiency, and organisation are paramount. The working hours are 16:00 till finish Usually (18:00-20:00)
Duties
- Safely operate forklift trucks to load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse and service yard
- San in goods using a handheld scanner
- Perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshooting as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
- Handle materials carefully, ensuring proper stacking and loading to prevent damage or accidents.
- Support the organisation of stock by maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse environment.
- Conduct routine safety checks on forklift equipment before use and report any faults promptly.
Skills
- Experience operating forklift trucks in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Knowledge for minor repairs and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Ability to handle materials safely, including heavy lifting where necessary.
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure accuracy in shipping & receiving tasks.
- Familiarity with materials handling procedures and safety protocols within a warehouse setting..
This role is vital in maintaining smooth Transport operations through efficient material handling and equipment management, supporting the overall success of our logistics team.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
