The Hangin’ Pizzeria in Betws-y-Coed is looking for a Front of House Manager to oversee the daily operation of our busy restaurant. The Pizzeria is situated in the picturesque village of Betws-y-Coed in the heart of Eryri National Park. It is a very is a popular place for hikers and locals, but we also have several visitors that travel from much further afield.
We are open from 8am - 8:30pm, serving breakfasts from opening until midday, and pizzas from 12pm onwards.
Our vision is to provide high quality food, while raising money and awareness for animal conservation. Our menu is 100% palm oil free, and a percentage of our annual sales are split between our two chosen charities - Ape Action Africa, and Orangutan Appeal UK.
We are looking for someone who is honest and hard working with the ability to lead, inspire and drive a team forward, who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty and help out with all aspects of working in the pizzeria - from writing rotas to washing up.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Menu & specials planning - Our menus are inspired by dishes from other countries, so a knowledge of international foods to provide a unique selection of pizzas is desirable
Shift Planning
Banking and cash handling
Stock control, date checks and stock rotation
Staff training - must be kept up to date and regularly refreshed
Staff hiring
Purchasing and ordering from our local suppliers
Cooking - assist if required. A detailed knowledge of the menu and cooking processes to act as an example for other staff.
Cleaning - Including daily, weekly and monthly checks. Maintaining our high standard both inside and outside the Pizzeria.
Food Hygiene - We have a hygiene rating of 5 stars, and require maintenance of our current practices. We also require at least a Level 3 food hygiene certificate, government allergen training and HACCP training.
Health and Safety - Ensure all staff are adhering to health and safety laws, and have the adequate training and certifications in place.
Representing the Hangin’ Pizzeria at events and trade shows and with suppliers
Warm hospitality and customer service
Requirements
Managerial/Supervisory experience in a Front of House setting
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Barista experience - desirable
Organised and communicative
Teamwork - work collaboratively with the kitchen manager and supervisors and team members
Patience & Conflict resolution skills
Shift flexibility - including mornings, weekends and evening shifts.
Driver’s Licence - essential for this role due to the rural location and infrequency of public transport.
Knowledge or passion for sustainable operation - training will be provided on our specific conservation ethos.
