Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficiency.
- Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and presentation expectations.
- Coordinate food production activities to meet service times and customer demands.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen areas.
- Assist in menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and inventory management to optimise stock levels and minimise waste.
- Train junior kitchen staff on cooking techniques, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Support the implementation of new recipes, techniques, and culinary innovations to enhance the menu offering.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned according to health regulations.
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment.
- Extensive background in food production, preparation, and cooking across various cuisines.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP protocols, and hygiene regulations.
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with food serving procedures and customer service principles is advantageous.
- A recognised culinary qualification or relevant hospitality training is preferred but not essential.
