As a Catering Assistant with ISS UK, you’ll be at the heart of our busy school catering operation, supporting the preparation and service of food while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety.
Working in a busy school kitchen, you’ll also play an important front-of-house role, responding to customer needs, providing excellent service and helping to create a professional, friendly and welcoming environment for our guests.
The Role
- Assist with setting out food for service in accordance with the menu
- Prepare kitchen equipment ready for service
- Set up the dining room and arrange furniture as required
- Serve meals to customers, providing a friendly and efficient service
- Clear and clean the dining room following service
- Clean fixtures, fittings and kitchen floors to a high standard
- Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, health and safety in line with legislation and company procedures
- Work as part of a team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the catering operation
About You
- Enthusiastic and positive approach to work
- Catering experience is preferred, but a positive, can-do attitude is essential
- Good understanding of the principles of food hygiene
- Able to follow instructions, while also using initiative to make appropriate decisions in the best interests of the customer
- Customer-focused, ensuring every customer has an excellent experience
- A determined team player who works well with others
