Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting bathroom pods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This position may require overnight stops. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving and delivery services to contribute to a dynamic organisation.
Duties
- Valid Class 1 driving licence is essential for this role.
- no more than 3 points on your licence, and no DD or DR convictions in the last 10 years.
- Valid CPC and digital tacho card are essential.
- Operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
- Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely delivery of goods to clients and distribution centres
- Up to 3 overnight stops per week
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any faults or issues promptly
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Comply with all legal requirements related to driving hours, load limits, and safety standards
- FLT licence would be an advantage
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary
- Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
Skills
- Proven experience in driving commercial vehicles, particularly flatbed lorries or similar large vehicles
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan efficient routes under time constraints
- Good physical fitness for handling cargo loading/unloading tasks when required
- Organised with attention to detail for maintaining accurate logs and documentation
- Ability to work independently while adhering to strict schedules and safety standards
