Lead the delivery of a GBRX innovation portfolio focused on addressing systemic challenges across infrastructure, operations, technology, and data. This role is accountable for translating strategic goals into coordinated delivery activity, shaping the delivery plan, and managing teams and partners to realise measurable value.
You will provide leadership across a range of complex workstreams, manage cross-sector relationships, and drive portfolio performance. This includes aligning resources, managing risk, overseeing delivery assurance, and representing GBRX in senior forums. The role is central to building credibility, momentum, and integrating varying innovation and technology outcomes across the portfolio.
Key Accountabilities
- Independently leading the delivery of a high-impact innovation portfolio, taking full accountability for performance, alignment with GBRX strategy, and long-term value.
- Develop clear delivery plans that translate strategic objectives into integrated workstreams from ambiguous developments - covering pilots, systems, data, and operational transformation.
- Build and lead high-performing delivery teams and partnerships, setting direction, supporting development, and fostering a collaborative culture.
- Development and ideation of innovation and technology ideas within the GBRX portfolio using external partnerships to develop an increasing portfolio
- Manage portfolio budgets and resources, overseeing financial planning, spend, and supplier performance to deliver value for money.
- Drive delivery momentum across multiple workstreams, ensuring goals are met, risks are managed, and work stays on track in a fast-changing environment.
- Identify and resolve delivery challenges, using insight and judgement to address risks, unblock issues, and adapt plans when needed.
- Lead senior stakeholder engagement, building trusted relationships across government, industry, and academia to align priorities, secure support, and promote the portfolio's wider impact.
- Shape and input into business cases and investment plans, providing evidence from delivery planning and real-world delivery conditions.
- Embed strong governance and assurance across the portfolio, enabling confident, evidence-based decisions and maintaining high standards of delivery and compliance.
- Promote learning and continuous improvement, helping teams reflect on progress, adopt new ideas, and improve how work is delivered.
- Support the wider GBRX leadership team, working across portfolios to share insight, coordinate efforts, and strengthen delivery capability.
