Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Gardener to join our team at Springfields Nursing Home. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our outdoor gardens and landscape areas, ensuring they remain beautiful and welcoming for our residents. Your work will contribute directly to creating a pleasant environment that supports the well-being of those in our care.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and care for garden areas using hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems.
- Plant, prune, and cultivate flowers, shrubs, and trees to ensure healthy growth.
- Implement landscape maintenance plans to keep outdoor spaces attractive and functional.
- Monitor soil health and apply horticultural practices to promote plant vitality.
- Assist with seasonal planting and garden redesign projects.
- Ensure safety standards are followed when operating gardening equipment.
- Collaborate with the care team to create outdoor spaces that meet residents' needs.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience in gardening or horticulture, preferably within residential or care environments.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems.
- Strong knowledge of plant care, landscape maintenance, and horticultural practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to gardening activities.
- Growing experience or background in horticulture is advantageous.
