We are looking for an experienced Senior Retail Department Supervisor to lead our Garden Essentials & Outdoor Living department at our premium garden centre in Chelsea.
This is an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused retail professional with a passion for outdoor living, premium products, and exceptional service. The department includes luxury garden furniture, outdoor living products, garden essentials, and seasonal ranges, requiring a confident leader with strong commercial awareness and a hands-on approach.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead, motivate, and develop the department team, delivering outstanding customer service.
· Create an exceptional shopping experience for our discerning clientele.
· Drive sales through excellent product knowledge and customer engagement.
· Maintain high standards of merchandising, presentation, and housekeeping.
· Oversee stock management, purchasing, and replenishment to maximise sales and availability.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while identifying and developing new supplier opportunities.
· Support the Retail Manager with staff training, departmental performance, and day-to-day operations.
About You
· A minimum of 5 years’ retail experience, with previous supervisory or management experience.
· A background in garden centres, outdoor living, garden furniture, or premium home and lifestyle retail is highly desirable.
· Experience in stock control, buying, and supplier management.
· A genuine people person with exceptional customer service and communication skills.
· Commercially minded, organised, and confident leading a team.
· Experience working with premium products and customers in an affluent retail environment, such as Chelsea or similar locations, would be an advantage.
