Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to optimise flavour and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing, sanitising, and storing utensils and equipment
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to minimise waste
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Serve dishes efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a chef within a professional kitchen or restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and hygiene standards
- Ability to prepare a wide range of meals with consistency and attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork and customer service when serving guests
- Flexibility to adapt to different cuisines or special dietary requirements as needed
- Passion for culinary arts with a desire to learn new techniques and improve skills
