Gomersal Park Hotel is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced chef who is passionate about producing high-quality food and wants to play an important role in a busy hotel kitchen.
The Role
Working closely with our Head Chef, you will help lead the kitchen team and ensure consistently high standards across our menus and food service. You’ll be hands-on, organised and confident working in a fast-paced environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to our standards
- Supervising and supporting junior members of the kitchen team
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety standards
- Helping with menu preparation, stock control and ordering
- Ensuring food is prepared and presented consistently
- Managing the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
- Working effectively during busy service periods, weddings, functions and events
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Sous Chef or an experienced Chef de Partie ready to take the next step
- Is passionate about food and takes pride in their work
- Can lead and motivate a kitchen team
- Has excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Works well under pressure in a busy environment
- Understands and follows food hygiene and health & safety procedures
- Is reliable, professional and a positive team player
