Upholsterer
LOCATION: Bradford
WORKING HOURS: 7am - 5.15pm, Monday - Thursday. 39 hours
SALARY: £12.71 - £16.15 per hour

We're looking for an Upholsterer to join our manufacturing team in Bradford. This is an opportunity to work a 4-day week, producing high-quality contract furniture used across healthcare, hospitality, care homes and specialist environments.
Working alongside an experienced upholstery team, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills and learn the upholstery trade while producing furniture to the highest standards. Whether you have previous upholstery experience, a sewing background, or simply a practical mindset and an interest in learning, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
- Upholster a range of furniture using fabric, leather and vinyl.
- Measure, cut and fit upholstery materials accurately.
- Apply padding, webbing and springs where required.
- Learn to use upholstery hand tools, power tools and industrial sewing machines safely and effectively.
- Work from drawings and product specifications to produce high-quality finished products.
- Carry out quality checks throughout the manufacturing process.
- Support the wider production team to meet daily targets.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
What we're looking for
We're open to candidates from a range of backgrounds. Previous furniture upholstery experience is not essential, and full training will be provided to the right person.
You might have:
- Previous experience in upholstery, sewing, furniture manufacturing or a similar practical role – but this isn't essential.
- A qualification, degree or training in sewing, upholstery or a related subject – but this isn't essential.
- Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learn new skills.
- The ability to follow instructions, drawings and product specifications.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- The ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards.
- A genuine interest in developing a career in upholstery and furniture manufacturing.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is practical, reliable, takes pride in their work and is keen to learn.
