Job Purpose
To assist in maintaining our high standards, and output levels, we are seeking an ambitious Quality Technicianto join the team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a quality focused, high volume manufacturing organisation with outstanding future potential. Understanding of a wide range of high-volume manufacturing processes, PCB experience and knowledge would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will work a continental shift pattern to support the effective implementation of quality processes and procedures within production.
Working in conjunction with colleagues from the Quality department, the role will support the achievement of operational outcomes such as scrap reduction and continuous improvement.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Operational
· Be a productive member of the Quality Team, contributing to the strategic goals and operational outputs of the department.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with the production department(s) to help drive a “Right First Time” ethos within the manufacturing environment.
· Carry out Production Quality Control Patrol Inspections concentrating on the “Man /Method/Machine/Material” inputs to assist failure detection at the earliest opportunities.
· Sample checking of production parts including DT (Destructive Testing) to verify acceptability / suitability.
· Liaise with colleagues across departments as required to support investigation / analysis.
· Completion of measurements using various pieces of equipment.
· Analysis, interpretation and recording of data.
· Provide support to MRB procedure.
· Support the continuous improvement of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
· Support the application of the Quality Core Tools and Quality Core Elements throughout the business.
· Analysis of customer returns up to level two fault finding.
· Leading and closing out Non-conformances using lean tools like 8D, 5Why, A3, Ishikawa etc...
· QAT testing
General
· Communication and co-operation across all aspects of the business are critical to this role.

Returns Processing
· Receive, inspect, and process returned products from customers.
· Conduct fault-finding, root cause analysis, and basic technical investigations on returned items.
· Record and maintain accurate return data within company systems.
· Assess and classify return failures in accordance with established procedures.
· Support containment, corrective action, and preventive action activities arising from customer returns.
· Prepare reports and summaries of return trends and recurring issues.
·To undertake any other duties appropriate to the level of the post, as required.
Knowledge and Skills
· Previous experience of working in a quality environment would be beneficial.
· Experience of working within a IS09001 QMS environment.
· ISO9001:2015 QMS and ISO14001:2015 EMS auditor (training to be provided if required).
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, standards and inspection procedures.
· Experience of using non-contact measurement equipment, Micrometer, Digital calliper, surface measurement and hardness testing equipment and various gauges.
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
· Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
· Ability to support multiple development projects at a given time.
· Ability to communicate effectively and build working relationships within internal and external stakeholders.
· The ability to achieve targets and personal objectives.
